Struggling to find shipping supplies? Here are 7 must-have shipping supplies for your craft business!
As a craft business owner, the ~crafty~ side of me REALLY wanted to get shipping supplies that were:
- Inexpensive
- Aesthetic
- Simple
Can you relate? Who wants to wait 2 weeks for the supplies to ship?!
That’s why I choose Amazon (Hello 2-day FREE shipping!) So let me share them with you!
This post is about the best shipping supplies for craft businesses.
THE BEST SHIPPING SUPPLIES FOR YOUR CRAFT BUSINESS:
You should ALWAYS use bubble wrap in every package!
This bubble wrap comes in bulk and you certainly will not run out of it. The last thing you want is that beautiful custom mug you made to get destroyed in transit because it wasn’t packaged properly.
TLDR: If it can easily break, USE. BUBBLE. WRAP.
If you don’t have a printer at home or you print shipping labels on computer paper, let me share with you this label printer on Amazon.
I was stubborn. I said no way am I spending THAT much money on a label printer when I can easily print them myself. …50 packages later the Rollo printer was added to my cart and I was so relieved!
Yes, it’s an investment. BUT it is a tax write off for your business and saves you time! Think about all that time wasted printing & cutting your labels one-by-one and taping it to the box hoping the label won’t get smeared in inclement weather. Trust me, you will thank me later.
I also bought these labels and label holder to go with it 🙂
Thank you cards are a great way to personalize a package. Your customer is eager & excited to receive their package, so make sure they know how thankful you are for their business!
Inserting thank you cards is also another way to advertise your shop, promote your social media, and even include a coupon for future purchases; which can equal more sales for you!
But, if you want to go the DIY route, you can purchase cardstock, create a custom design on Canva and print them out yourself!
One of the BEST shipping supplies to own. You will need to package your items somewhere!
I used polymailers to package basically all of my items like apparel, even my doormats at one point! They also come in different sizes and colors to go with your branding.
Here are the common sizes:
- Check out this medium-sized polymailer! It’s perfect for t-shirts, canvas bags, & more!
- This specific polymailer is your standard polymailer size. I used this smaller size for my seasonal items like ornaments.
- You will love this 24″ polymailer for bigger items. Before I discovered boxes, I used this size polymailer to package my doormats & they worked great!
If you mail your packages from your home (which, if you are a business owner, you DEFINITELY should be doing this) a shipping scale is a necessity!
This scale is compact and helped me weigh my packages varying in ALL sizes – including my doormats! I still use it all the time for mailing personal packages too.
Looking to spice up your packaging? Add a sticker to the outside of your polymailer or box!
The first stickers I made with my Cricut were for my business. This video explains how to make Print then Cut stickers and trust me, it’s not as hard as it looks!
Before I stated that polymailers were an essential for your shipping supplies closet, but if you’re shipping heavier and/or fragile items, boxes are the way to go!
I specifically used these boxes for shipping doormats, but if you need a different size, type it in the Amazon search bar and a bunch of options will pop up!
Shipping your items in boxes does require you to use bubble wrap or some sort of filler but gave me peace of mind for my fragile products 🙂
