Can’t decide which Cricut tools are actually worth buying? Here are 10 Cricut tools you must get your hands on!
There are A LOT of Cricut accessories out there like different tools, blades, pens, mats – talk about overwhelming! I’ve bought too many craft supplies over the years, and I ended up wasting a lot of money on them.
So I’m here to tell you the Cricut accessories you REALLY need when you’re crafting with your Cricut and trust me, you’ll actually use ‘em too!
This post is about 10 Cricut tools you really need for crafting.
THE 10 CRICUT TOOLS:
If you start making vinyl and Iron-On Cricut crafts, you will need the weeder tool. I use the weeder tool EVERY time I craft since I don’t make paper crafts as often!
The single-tipped weeder helps remove the tiny areas and negative pieces from a cut project – which is why it’s a must-have tool! Weeding is one of my favorite steps in crafting 🙂
You can also check out the Pin Pen Weeding Tool for poking those stubborn areas! I recently made an IG Reel on comparing the Pin Pen and Weeder tool and it was interesting to see the differences.
Transfer tape is a STAPLE material for crafting! It is used for adhesive vinyl projects such as glasses, car decals, ornaments, etc.
There are several types of transfer tapes out there, but this transfer tape is by far my favorite! Why? Well, I haven’t bought transfer tape since 2019 and I’m STILL using it LOL
Do you struggle with placing materials down on your Cricut Mat? Then try the brayer tool!
It firmly adheres any material to the Cricut Mat and even removes bubbles or wrinkles so your Cricut can cut the design better!
I used to move my hands back and forth when applying vinyl on my mat, talk about a workout. But now, I save my energy with the brayer tool.
The regular size of the Cricut Mat is 12”x12”. But did you know there’s an even LONGER mat? Meet the 12”x24” Cricut Mat!
If you plan on making bigger “Off The Mat” projects like doormats or wall decals, then the 12”x24” Mat is a must-have Cricut accessory for your craft collection!
The 12″x24″ size also comes in LightGrip, StandardGrip, StrongGrip & FabricGrip.
Now you might not think you need this Cricut accessory, but trust me, you do. It’s the Cricut BrightPad Go!
This cordless, LED light tool helps you see ALL the details in your Cricut projects like vinyl, heat transfer projects, or when you need to trace something.
Can you remember when you accidentally weeded the WRONG part of the design because you couldn’t see it in the first place? That’s why the Cricut BrightPad Go is a MUST-HAVE accessory!
This Cricut accessory helps save time and frustration – a paper cutter!
Don’t get me wrong, scissors work great too! But I’m a clumsy and a lazy crafter (totally not a good combination) so paper cutters like this make the crafting process easy!
I have both the Cricut paper cutter and this amazon one, but if you have the room for it, get THIS one. It’s heavy duty and great for thicker materials and bulk projects.
You’ve probably heard the phrase “scrape it down” or “use your scraper” in the crafting world and that’s because you need a scraper tool.
But not just ANY scraper tool… you need the XL scraper tool!
I had the regular sized scraper for awhile, but decided it was time for an upgrade. With the XL size, you’ll cut down time and scrape more all at once. Plus, it’s great for cleaning your Cricut Mat and folding score lines for paper crafts!
PLEASE get these if you create HTV/Iron-On Cricut projects! These T-Shirt Ruler Guides help align designs on apparel items like t-shirts, sweatshirts, even baby clothing!
I love that it’s clear so you can actually see where you’re placing the HTV and it’s centered. I regret not buying these ruler guides years ago when I first started using my Cricut EasyPress!
This must-have Cricut accessory is for those who own the Cricut Explore 3 and the Cricut Maker 3. It makes using Smart Materials SO much easier!!
Smart Vinyl is vinyl that can be cut WITHOUT a Cricut Mat. But who wants that roll of vinyl to be rolling around all over your desk and then onto the floor when cutting? Not me!
That’s why the Cricut Roll Holder comes in handy. Plus, it comes with a built in paper trimmer so you can cut your vinyl once you’re done!
Yes, the Cricut can do much more than just cut and score – it can also write!
With the help of Cricut pens, you can make cards, envelopes, coloring projects and more!
Here are some common pens:
- These are your Classic Cricut Pens. Great for any Cricut project!
- Need a thinner pen? Try Fine-Point! These are perfect for detailed, intricate Cricut crafts.
- These Gel Pens are my favorite. Make your design POP with these silky-smooth gel pens!
- You will love Infusible Ink Pens for heat pressing. I’ve made coasters, canvas bags, & mugs with these pens – they’re SO cool!
